Help, safety and complaints

Tell us what happened. We will route it safely.

Students, trusted adults, schools, presenters and company teams can raise a concern. You do not need to know which policy applies.

Effective 20 September 2026

If someone is in immediate danger

Call 000 in Australia or the local emergency number in your country. Recess is not an emergency service. During a live session, tell the school host immediately so they can use the room safety controls and follow the school’s procedures.

How to contact us

Reports are received by Recess Pty Ltd (ABN 46 674 209 100, ACN 674 209 100). Email hello@recess.education or use the contact form. Include what happened, the session or organisation involved, when it occurred and a safe way to reply. Do not send unnecessary student details or screenshots containing other students.

A student may ask a teacher, parent, carer or another trusted adult to contact us. If giving a name feels unsafe, provide enough session detail for us to locate the concern without naming the student.

What happens next

We restrict the report to people who need it, preserve only necessary information, assess immediate risk and confirm the next accountable step. Safety reports are prioritised promptly. Other complaints are normally acknowledged within two business days. Complex matters may take longer; we will provide updates where we can do so safely.

Review and external options

If you disagree with an outcome, reply and ask for review by a different authorised person. You can also review the official pathways for an OAIC privacy complaint, reporting online harm to eSafety, or an Australian Human Rights Commission complaint. Schools may also use their child-safety regulator or education authority.
